This retreat is a unique experience! We'll enter deeply in contact with the Maya culture.

The Maya peolpe are not disappeared, they live in some areas of Centre America and of South Mexico. The destination of our journey of January is Belizè (ex British Honduras), a small state of Central America. Here lives since many years, a researcher who has a lot to teach us about the Maya people and their tradition.

Dr. Rosita Arvigo, who many years ago, for a series of reasons met Apurva and Shaida. She was born in the US and then in the 1970s she moved to Central America. Rosita will explain us the Mayan knowledge about physical and spiritual deseases, and how to take care of them.

She will bring us throug this experience assisted by Apurva and the staff of Sacred Adventures.

Dr. Rosita Arvigo, recognized Erbalista and Healer, Searcher and Shaman, Midwife and Teacher, Writer of books, International Lecturer, among her specialities, she has been teaching for more than thirty years the Mayan practices alla over the world. Her books are translated into different languages. Rosita has studied with the last Maya Himan: Don Elijo Panti. She studied and practiced with Don Elijio for years in the jungle of Belizè, in Central America, then, as requested by him, she handed down the knowledge to the young Maya, otherwise it would have been lost, so she has been a link in a delicate moment for the Maya Nations.

Rosita collaborates from several years with Apurva and Shaida and the Soleluna Institute, she is President of the Native Healers of Belizè and founder of Ix Chel Tropical Research Farm, with Greg Sophire . Sacred Adventures organized many retreats in Belizè and in Italy with Rosita. The location of the retreat is near a small city: S. Ignacio, on the borderline with Guatemala. The hotel in which we will stay is the best in its kind of all Central America, a place you will be sad to leave when we’ll have to go back to Europe. Very beautiful, completely ecological and luxurious at the same time! You will feel impossible to stay in a such organized structure in the middle of the jungle!

Chaa Creek Resort has won the best prize at international level, and we invite you to view the video that confirms it. From a safe and favourite position, we will be able to experiment the jungle, the river and the Mayan pyramids.

Here is the house of the jaguar and of the colibrì, of the tucano and of the parrot…iguanas and behind the Mayan world with its still unknown mysteries.

We will make excursions in the jungle, with expert local guides, canoa, adventures, visits to the pyramids and daily lessons with Rosita about the use of plants and Mayan healing rituals. Free time and regenerating holiday in a flamboyant environment; there is a wonderful swimming pool, the spa of the hotel, the river, mountain bike, horse back riding excursions, canoa excursions, guided visits to the butterflies farming, or a relaxing treatment surronded by a wonderful nature.

We will take baths with Mayan flowers, we will make prayers, rituals, trance dance, meditations, copal,the susto and 9 Mayan Spirits, Ix Chel and It Zama, the irrepressible fancy and professionality of Rosita, the energy and grounding of Apurva, will make this travel and retreat an unforgettable experience.

Some of the proceeds will be used as support of the various projects that Sacred Adventures promotes in collaboration with dr. Arvigo. Among these, the protection of the plants that have to be studied, because they are continuosly killed by the deforestation. Rosita, in the United States, has established the first reserve in the world for healing plants, in collaboration with well known search institutes for the application of plants in medicine. Here there is the school for childrens' education to nature's protection, in the town of Saint Ignacio, Belizè.
